We collect the following categories of information when you use the WellSaid App or our website:
- Account information — name, email address, and basic profile details you provide.
- Entries and content — your prompts, responses, reflections, and any AI-assisted transcripts you save.
- Relationships/people metadata — names or labels you assign to the people you capture for (e.g., “Daughter,” “Alex”).
- Usage data — app interactions, feature usage, and diagnostics that help us improve performance (for example, how often you share or download a book you’ve created).
- Device and technical data — device type, OS version, and similar technical details required for functionality.
- Purchases — subscription and entitlement status, such as which plan you purchased, renewal dates, and transaction metadata from Apple’s App Store (via RevenueCat) and/or Stripe. When you purchase a subscription through Apple’s App Store, we do not receive your full payment details. Apple provides us only the limited transaction information necessary to maintain your account and verify your entitlement.
We do not collect biometric data, payment card numbers (website payments are handled by Stripe), or device-level identifiers beyond what is necessary to run the service.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate and improve the app, including AI-assisted features and personalization.
- To provide support, troubleshoot issues, and keep the service secure.
- To communicate important updates (e.g., feature changes, policy updates). You can opt out of non-essential marketing emails.
- To maintain your subscription status and account access (when applicable).
- To process in-app purchases through Apple’s App Store and website purchases through Stripe, and to manage entitlements via RevenueCat.
3. How We Share Information
We don’t sell your personal data. We share limited information with service providers that help us operate the product (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery, and Stripe for payments). These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and use it only for our instructions.
Examples: RevenueCat (managing App Store subscriptions and entitlements) and Stripe (processing website payments).
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger). If such a transfer occurs, we’ll notify you of any material changes to how your information is handled.
4. Children’s Data
The WellSaid App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Adult users may reference minors in their entries; those entries are stored securely and are not visible to others unless you explicitly share them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at support@wellsaidapp.com and we will delete it.
5. Data Retention
We keep your content for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription or stop using the app, we may retain your data for up to 12 months to allow easy reactivation. You can request deletion at any time, and we’ll honor it unless we’re required to keep certain records (e.g., for legal or billing obligations).
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and routine monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we continuously work to protect your information.
7. Your Rights & Choices
- Access and update — view and edit your account information and entries.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and data at any time.
- Export — request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Communications — opt out of non-essential emails via the unsubscribe link.

8. International Transfers
We may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections).

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers. We do not use cookies or similar technologies for advertising. In the future, we may use essential cookies or local storage to:

- Remember your preferences and improve site functionality.
